Matt Hugg

Connections are Key for Fundraising Professional Turned Career Coach:

Matt Hugg had over 20 years experience in fundraising and volunteer management in colleges and universities before he decided to make the transition into coaching. He was drawn to career coaching as a way to add a component to an industry that in his opinion was grossly under served. In the fundraising industry it was common practice to change jobs every 2 or 3 years. Matt wanted to find a way to help people move away from that to a position that was more suited to them so that they would stay for the long haul – which would make them more effective fund raisers. He recognized the clear parallel between executing a fundraising campaign and embarking on a job search, which made career coaching a natural fit.

After deciding that he wanted to expand his practice to include coaching, he researched several programs and discovered that CCI met his needs in a way that many other coaching schools could not. He was anxious to get started and the flexibility of the programs allowed him to dive right in without having to waste any time. He enrolled in the ACCC Self-paced program and soon garnered enough hours to achieve certification. He believes CCI’s programs offered him the flexibility and the resources he needed to begin coaching right away. He continues to be impressed with the quality of materials used in the courses.
