International Career Consultant Adds Coaching to European-based Practice:
A little over a year ago, after having lived in London for over three and a half years, Megan Fitzgerald and her husband decided that they were ready for a change of pace. After exploring a number of countries, they packed their bags and moved to Rome, Italy. Recognizing that she would face a language barrier as well as not having her working papers, she decided she needed to build a career that she could take anywhere. This, and the fact that she had been helping people with their career marketing materials informally for many years, led her to the idea of becoming a career coach and ultimately to seeking out formal training with Career Coach Institute.
Her previous work experience, which includes over 15 years in career development, business development and international education and training, coupled with her desire to help people get clear about their career path made career coaching a perfect fit.
Megan found that training with Career Coach Institute was a great way to develop new skills that would augment her experience in career and business development. She enrolled in the Schools of Career Coaching program because she wanted to be able to have access to all the career coaching options CCI had to offer. She appreciated the multi-modal learning aspects, the variety of offerings, and the fact that she could do it all self-paced in a matter of just 6 months. She took advantage of each opportunity that came her way, including taking the mini-courses CCI offers each summer. Megan especially loves the supportive CCI community, having access to highly trained and well accomplished faculty and CCI’s commitment to building relationships and supporting students after they graduate. Megan recently received her certification as a Certified Career Coach and is working on her certification as a Certified Executive Career Coach as well. She is always on the lookout for any new courses CCI has to offer.
Megan currently has a thriving coaching practice where she has the opportunity to work with internationally minded professionals, solopreneurs and expatriates. For those who are uncertain about which career or business will bring them satisfaction and support their lifestyle, Megan helps them create a clear vision of a career or business aligned with their values, skills and life and work preferences. Together they develop a plan of action and she offers them tools and support to help them transform that vision into reality. As a certified personal branding strategist, she helps them identify what differentiates them from their competition and communicate that unique value in a clear and compelling fashion so they stand out and get noticed by the right employers or clients.
