It it YOUR Independence Day?

Tomorrow we celebrate Independence Day in the U.S. And as someone who provides training and marketing services for entrepreneurs (specifically career coaches), I have a question for you: do you feel more independent now that you have become a self-employed coach, or less?

A trap that many coaches fall into when they have attracted some clients and business is beginning to grow is that they feel more tied to the business than they ever did to a job! They feel unable to take a vacation (because if they did, cash flow would dip or stop), they feel "on call" 24/7 through their cell phones, Blackberries and pagers, and they wish they could generate more money working less time. Does this sound like you?

I have certainly been there during my 4 businesses to date...but I'm FINALLY starting to get it! Life is made to be enjoyed, not endured...and the reasons you got into coaching to start with are still valid! They can just get buried in the seemingly endless stream of details that can fall on your desk as a business owner.
