Lazy Days of Summer - Not!!

In many businesses, it is common to view the summer months as time to vacation, to "coast," and to wait until fall to really ramp up again (much like during the holiday season late in the year). Are you falling prey to that myth?

Instead of just letting the summer pass by, postponing the business projects you had intended to do this year (remember those new year's resolutions! ) - why not use the remaining weeks of summer to lay some important ground work?

Career coaches and infopreneurs that are success-minded will likely take one of their four (or more) planned vacations during the summer, but will also use their time to:

  • Get started on a book outline to propose to a publisher in September
  • Write an e-course to lead up to a paid course they're offering in the fall
  • Make phone contact with clients that are in town and nurture that business relationship (not a sales call, just a check-in call)
  • Offer a bonus that will make their clients' lives easier - especially with kids off from school
  • Record a series of audio sound bites to sequence in autoresponders introducing new prospects to key points of their services

Can you think of more? Email me what YOU are doing this summer to lay groundwork, build relationships, and position your business for ongoing growth. You can reach me at marcia@careercoachinstitute.com

Off to NCDA

Happy Independence Day! It's a great day to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy - and sometimes take for granted - each and every day.

I'm going to enjoy the day with friends, as I continue decorating my new home just south of Portland, Oregon. And then tomorrow, I'm off to the National Career Development Conference www.ncda.org in Seattle, Washington! Can't wait to meet up with career counselors, career coaches, and other career professionals from around the US and beyond - and to speak to them on Sat. about laser coaching as a power strategy in Career Coaching 2.0.

If you live in the Seattle area or are planning to attend the event, do stop by our booth #48! We'll be at the Sheraton Seattle.

Until next week, yours in freedom,
