Marcia Bench, MCCC, Founder/DirectorMarcia Bench

Title, Credentials: Master Certified Career Coach (MCCC), Certified Business Coach (CBC), Certified Career Management Practitioner (CMP), Certified Teleleader; J.D. degree in law and B.S. degree in psychology.

Web sites: www.careercoachinstitute.com, www.retirementcoachinstitute.com www.marciabench.com and many more.

What I Do: I am the Founder and Director of Career Coach Institute and its affiliate companies. I conceived the idea of blending career development with coach training in 2000, and shortly after that created CCI. I have developed and continue to oversee its program design, staffing, strategic planning, budgeting, student services, marketing, web services and curriculum development. CCI is my fourth business venture, and I love being an entrepreneur and owner of a growing company. I have also done my stint in “corporate,” both in administrative support and executive roles, and find that my need to respond quickly when an idea strikes and to do it “my way” draws me to business ownership.

What I Like About My Work: My favorite part of my work is seeing (or hearing) the “quantumshift!” moment when someone who is coaching, being coached, or learning, finally has a moment of clarity. What a moment! I also love working virtually, since my spouse is retired and I love to travel, coaching and coach training lets me live my life and work wherever I go (or delegate it so I can take a break every so often!). And I love to innovate: if there’s a better way to do something and no one has thought of it yet, I’ll be the one to try it!

Favorite Career Development/Self Improvement Program: Early on, it was Marsha Sinetar’s work that most inspired me, as well as author Nancy Anderson. Then Richard Lieder and so many current authors that continue to share the message of hope with the weary working world. Each of them opened my mind to the possibility that you can have work that is fun and also financially rewarding. And that’s what I have committed my life to helping myself and others create for themselves.

Favorite Thing I’ve Learned About Myself Through Career Coach Training: I’ve learned so much more about what nurtures and works best for me: I love to have a Practice Development, I love to combine seemingly disparate knowledge or concepts into a cohesive set of principles or a program, I love to create and offer new products that wow people, and I love to have spontaneity and space for change in my life. And I’m thankful that those that work with me understand that and embrace it too (at least most of the time!)

Favorite Career Coaching Book: Well, I have to admit it’s my own, Career Coaching: An Insider’s Guide, and anything by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Favorite Hobbies/Leisure Activities: I enjoy hiking in the woods of Oregon, being by the ocean, playing tennis – or watching professional matches, cooking and entertaining, boating, and warm weather. I am a cat lover and love to travel by RV, cruise ship or boat to fun new places.

Sanna Lamb

Title, Credentials: Professional Certified Career Coach; Master Career Coach Training; Body-Mind Coach/Teacher (9 yrs.); Co-Leader International Educational Retreat Center (10 yrs.); Certified Teleclass Leader; Sales, marketing and public relations for companies specializing in health (15 yrs.); B.A. Economics and Mass Communications

Web site: www.EssenceFinders.com

What I Do: Career & Transition Coaching; Assessments; Goal Setting; Extensive experience working with clients with health issues; Practice Development Coaching new coaches to find the essence of their work, access their intuition and round out their practice with confidence.

What I Like About My Work: To witness a client’s expansive moments of discovery, i.e. an untapped resource or “an elusive obvious” which when seen and stated simply, creates radical change. I also appreciate having work that shapes itself around my life. Peace of mind and balance of the soul are what I value most. And…working internationally, discovering new opportunities that transcend cultural and economic boundaries are pretty awesome too!

Favorite Career Development/Self Improvement Program: Living/working abroad (10 yrs.), and I’ve found that making a commitment to ONE Practice Development at a time (2 yrs. min.) ensures that YOU show up 100%. With The Hendricks Institute I trained intensively and then apprenticed (5 yrs.) With Marcia Bench, I received coaching and learned much attending all her teleclasses (2+ yrs.) Presently, I’m in training with Carolyn Myss, CMED Institute.

Favorite Thing I’ve Learned About Myself Through Career Coach Training: I’m a good dancer! I leverage my style and multi-dimensional background to facilitate leaps into new ways of thinking and being, while respecting the unique learning style and language preference of my partner, client.

Favorite Career Coaching Book: Aside from Marcia’s book, The Corporate Mystic by Gay Hendricks & Kate Ludeman, Sacred Contracts by Caroline Myss, and Power vs. Force by Dr. David R Hawkins.

Favorite Hobbies/Leisure Activities: Learning and networking in all ways; traveling and enjoying nature’s enchantments, city park or mountain top. My husband and I have two well-traveled, mountain- and water-loving children. Participating in their education is one of my great life joys.

Helping clients to think outside the box to develop creative job search and career transition strategies is exciting and fun! There’s never a dull moment because no two clients are ever alike. Since their personal situations are unique, I get to approach the coaching relationship as a brand new experience!

Favorite Career Development/Self Improvement Program: Career Coach Institute (for sure!); Now, Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham
Favorite Thing I’ve Learned About Myself Through Career Coach Training: The most exciting result is the revelation of my own gifts and talents and how those critical components directly relate to my career satisfaction and performance. Amanda Mitchell

Amanda Mitchell

Title, Credentials: Executive Coach, Management Consultant--PCCC

Web site: www.theokeefegroupusa.com

What I Do: I coach management and senior staff in the communications, marketing/sales and healthcare industry to help them find career fulfillment within a corporate setting. My career is dedicated to understanding the motivations and beliefs that drive decisions and to constructing solutions to workplace dilemmas for both individuals and corporations. My areas of expertise include leadership development, executive career planning and management, managing impact of mergers/joint ventures, and navigating career transitions. Our group focuses on behavioral change — within corporations and within individuals. Our consulting practice in the healthcare arena uses the principals of behavior change to help companies deliver value to their end users and stockholders.

What I Like About My Work: The work I do in career and executive coaching builds upon my behavior change marketing background with efforts focused on people, not products. Since I work as a marketing consulting within major corporations, I am intimately familiar with the issues in the workplace which allows me to add value to my coaching work. Additionally, each person and situation is unique so the challenges are always fresh.

Favorite Career Development/Self Improvement Program: The most impactful self-improvement program I’ve ever done was the Zig Ziglar program Born to Win. I found the seminar and particularly the series of tapes very helpful in terms of focusing my energies on the positive and productive. I refer to them again and again although I completed the program almost 10 years ago. My favorite career development was the decision to leave my “dream” job running an advertising agency to seek a different path. This led me to Career Coach Institute and the International Coach Federation which resulted in a new career in coaching.

Favorite Thing I’ve Learned About Myself Through Career Coach Training: The favorite thing I’ve learned about myself through career coaching is that I’ve found the perfect career for me!

Favorite Career Coaching Book: Targeting the Job You Want by Kate Wendleton

Favorite Hobbies/Leisure Activities: Gardening, Biking, Swimming, Volunteer Work

Donna Mogan, Ph.D. Donna Mogan, Ph.D.

Title, Credentials: Ph.D., M.A., PCCC
Web site: http://www.helpingyoutosoar.com/

What I Do: I offer Strategic Alignment Life Coaching and Executive Career and Retirement Coaching. My clients primarily come from the Military, Religious/Spiritual, Corporate and Health Care fields. I have been a Consulting Psychologist for over 20 years assisting individuals, couples and organizations through their transition processes. Two years ago I made my own career transition to full-time Career Coaching. I will be teaching Coaching for Career Counselors for CCI.

What I Like About My Work: I work with a focus on the strengths of my clients and how they can best fulfill their own unique potentials. The process is like unwrapping a gift and delighting at what one finds inside. The client and I are often both energized at the end of each session. I am always in awe at how wonderfully we are all made.

Favorite Career Development/Self Improvement Program: I have thoroughly enjoyed and been expanded by all of the Career Coach Institute programs. They are all different with very rich material. They have served me well in the right way at the right time.

Favorite Thing I’ve Learned About Myself Through Career Coach Training: Though I had a successful practice as a consulting psychologist, I have found Career Coaching is a better fit for me at this time in my life. After a lot of work I feel quite comfortable in my new career role as Coach vs. Consultant or Therapist or Counselor.

Favorite Career Coaching Book: Career Coaching: An Insider’s Guide by Marcia Bench is, by far, the best book on the market for this subject. Another book I always enjoy is Zen and the Art of Making a Living by Laurence Boldt.

Favorite Hobbies/Leisure Activities: Gardening, Movies, Reading, Biking, Skiing, “doing lunch” with my friends.

Janine Moon, MCCC

Title, Credentials: MA; Master Certified Career Coach; Adjunct Faculty, Franklin University MBA Program and Executive Coaching Focus.

Web site: http://www.CPCoaching.com

What I Do: I help individuals build Inspiring Work and organizations build Inspiring Workplaces. Much of my work is about delivering ‘the hard truth about the soft stuff,’™ which includes workshops and keynotes on topics based in emotional intelligence, e.g. relationship building, developing resilience and collaboration. I am particularly focused on developing workplaces where worker engagement and generational differences are valued and where those things are the platform for the organization’s success. I found coaching after years in two utility industries; and I teach topic-specific classes for CCI. I am also a professional member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and Vice-President of NSA-Ohio, and am working toward my CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designation.

What I Like About My Work: It’s what I’m here to do. Nothing is more satisfying than being there as people look inside themselves, understand that ‘choice’ and ‘self’ are what forward movement is all about and make the decision and take the action to get out of their own way. I do appreciate helping people find their voice!
